Old Poste
The kitchen is the heart of this first-floor renovation. The previous floor plan was very segmented, with walls separating rooms into small and dark spaces.
Like many modern renovations we started designing the first floor of this home with the goal of opening up the floor plan. Bringing the outdoors in was another goal due to the beautiful riverside setting.
The homeowners have lived in Aspen, Colorado and their homes there served as a design inspiration for this project – modern yet warm and natural.
The renovations included removing most interior walls on the first floor and subsequently installing almost a dozen steel beams to support the house. Windows and doors were added along both front and back walls, so visitors can get a view of the river as they pull up to the home. There was a day during the renovations when there was no wall at all at the front of the house due to the installation of windows and beams!
The project features:
- Sierra Pacific Windows and Doors
- Custom Cabinetry – Rift Cut White Oak
- SubZero-Wolf Appliances
- Edgeworks Creative Custom Mantel & Stair Railing
