The original kitchen had a good footprint but was segmented by a wall separating it from the living room and a large cased opening that separated it from a small eat-in dining area. By opening up both of these walls (and adding a large steel beam) we were able to let the kitchen fully shine in the space.
The kitchen features a large 9-seat island, a full wall of subway tiles in varying shades of gray, and a wet bar. This kitchen is a great example of the impact that undercabinet lighting can have on a kitchen. The kitchen renovation also included a renovation of the laundry room off the garage to include a reconfiguration of the space, stacking the washer and dryer to accommodate a mudroom bench. The dark cabinetry, shiplap, and concrete tiles create a bold yet cohesive look in the space.
